The life of a mom

Yes, I know this is not an appealing topic but since it is no fun, you have to look for reasons to laugh. Evenings are a difficult time, as most mom's know. The baby is fussy, the kids are hungry, and want lots of attention, and you wonder how you are gonna cook dinner. Well, then the unexpected happens, chunky, purple, puke. Sawyer was laying on the couch when the fun event happened. I had just got the screaming Sailor asleep, and I had to throw him to the floor, waking him, to grab a trash can for Sawyer. I run to the bathroom to get Sawyer in the bath, and Samuel runs in to say that he heard Sailor poop very loudly and he thinks it went all over. Lovely!!! So I finish cleaning Sawyer up and getting him in to clean p.j.'s then clean up the baby and put him to bed, and finally get to the couch to clean it with the upholstery cleaner and start yet another load of laundry. I was a little stressed but also saw the humor in it, as I know that others watching might get a kick out of the chaos. Thankfully, Sawyer only puked once and slept it off. I just hope that the rest of us avoid getting it. Even after cleaning up purple puke, I'm so grateful at the end of the day for my stinky, pukey, handsome, dirty, silly little boys.

More Dancer pics

For some reason I'm having trouble getting pictures to upload to my blog, so I'm trying again. Here it goes.

Santa and Dancer

O.k. so I'll be the first one to admit that I'm not good at this blogging thing, but here it goes. I thank Lisa for reminding me that I have a blog when she sends out an email about hers.

In our town every year Dancer the Reindeer comes to visit with Santa. We went while the temp was 17 degrees with a windchill of 5 degrees. The kids had fun. Sawyer more than Samuel. Sawyer didn't seem bothered by the temps, but Samuel thought he was dying even while by the heater. We were able to get pictures with Santa and Dancer. I hope you enjoy. You'll get a bigger laugh after I relay this story. After we got home, Samuel said he felt like he had fur in his throat. I'm thinking??????????? I told him to drink some water. Then he sounded like he was working a hairball up, and said it was really bugging him. Meanwhile I'm dealing with the baby trying to get him fed and to bed, and not really taking Samuel to seriously, thinking he probably has a hair in his mouth or something, or was coming down with a sore throat. Well, after about an hour, I finally got a flashlight and looked at his throat. I saw something wrapped around his uvula that looked like white floss. I asked how in the world did he get that in his throat and he said he had no idea and hadn't flossed. I thought there was no way I would be able to get it out, as it was way back there. I told Quentin he would have to take Samuel to urgent care and see if they could get it safely out. Samuel didn't want to go and started to really cry, so I decided to give it a try. It took me about 25 minutes of Samuel crying, gagging, and trying so hard to be brave, for me to get it out. What was it? drum roll.....................

A whisker from Dancer the reindeer. Yes, it's weird and so dang funny!!!! We have no idea how in the world he got it there. We did get very close to Dancer as you can see in the pics. Here's another twist to the story. When we went to this same event about three years ago, Dancer hit Samuel in his head with his antler, and gave him a knot on his head. Samuel thinks it's funny, and says that Dancer is a troublemaker. He feels honored to be "attacked" by Santa's reindeer twice, lol. He told everyone at school. Whether or not they believed him, who knows.
